an incorporated body in its own right and it became the East Gippsland Historical Automobile Club (EGHAC) later that year. It still retains its affiliation with the GHAC.
With a membership approaching a hundred it offers its members regular outings most of which are social and entertaining. It aspires to conduct at least one extended tour annually, generally within Victoria.
For new members who may be uninitiated in historic cars or engines they are deemed to be “Veteran” if they were manufactured prior to 1st January 1919, those deemed to be “Vintage” are those manufactured between January 1919 and December 1930 and finally those deemed “Classic” are those manufactured between 1931 and 25 years of age or older. Classic vehicles may also be categorised as Historic '30s, '40s – '80s.
In retaining its affiliation with the GHAC members can either on their own or as a club participate in the events of other GHAC affiliated clubs giving opportunities each weekend to enjoy the fellowship of like persons.
State events can be included as EGHAC is a member in its own right of the Federation of Veteran, Vintage & Classic Vehicle Clubs (FVVCVC) and the Association of Motoring Clubs (AOMC). Members can take advantage of the many events that are available through these bodies.
Monthly meetings give an opportunity for members to discuss topics that vary from engines to collectables in the members sheds to the latest coffee shop visited on a recent event. Members are encouraged to suggest future events and with an active executive the latest news is always available.
The Club also has a popular small lending library for the use of members.

This website is the latest step in reaching others who have an interest in historic vehicles and are currently unaware that right at their doorstep is a Club that will make them welcome. It also gives information to its members and has some archival photos of events and rallies that members have taken
